How long have you worked at VDG? 11 years!
What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was little, I wanted to be a teacher, but when I started High School, I knew I wanted to do something in the arts.
Favorite hobby: Riding ATVs in Northeast Georgia
Favorite food: Mexican food & Chocolate
Something you can’t live without: My Husband and Kids
Secret talent: I am a ridiculously open book…I don’t think I have any secret talents the world doesn’t know about yet.
Interesting factoid: I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska
Why do you enjoy working at VDG? There’s a lot of reasons why I love working at VDG, but my 2 favorite things are the people and the environment. Coming to work every day is always enjoyable. I basically work with my friends because we have all grown to love each other and we all get a long so well. There is never a dull moment, they are always filled with laughter and excitement! The way our office is set up makes for good communication and a lot of interaction between all the departments. Everyone is willing to help each other when needed and we are just overall such a cohesive group of people. I can’t imagine working anywhere else – I guess that’s why I have worked here for so long!
Best piece of advice for upcoming designers: Because we work in such a fast-paced, diverse design firm, my best piece of advice to upcoming designers is to be flexible in your design style and work on your speed. In school, designers have weeks if not months to create one design, however, at VDG, we have to come up with ideas on the fly and design fast! Turn-around time is really important here and if you can create amazing designs quickly, then you will be successful!
